Ahhh Belize. What a difference from Roatan! We booked a shore excursion to Lamanai with the new river safari tour and it was wonderful. We had Vel as our tour guide and we learned all about Belize on the way to the river. He was funny and informative and so very proud of his country. He wanted all of us to visit and everyone we passed on the road waved to us and the people are very friendly. We found Belize to be very clean, friendly and welcoming to visitors!

The river cruise was great, we saw birds, crocodiles and bats. We arrived at Lamanai and had a good lunch prepared by the locals and refreshments. Everything was clean and neat. We were always served water or sodas and you could buy the local beer, Belikan. The short walk to the ruins was a little hard because it is uneven and I would not recommend it to anyone who has walking difficulties or for those in wheel chairs. The ruins were beautiful! Be sure and bring bug spray although even though we sprayed, we still got bitten. Cruise solutions tour group was really wonderful and it was a wonderful excursion. I would definitely visit Belize again because it is clean, We felt safe and the people want us to visit. GO BELIZE!!! write me for more info. cmerrn@aol.com
