Nancy

An experience not to miss for those going to Belize for the day.... Cave Tubing... with Reggie at A-1 Tours, he has a website. Reggie and I corresponded the month before our trip and confirmed dates and meeting locations, paying with a credit card, and we got on the first tender off the ship with no problem and we were met by Tim and he did a GREAT JOB...and what a great guy, more than accomodating, and he gave us a memorable adventure the whole day. He was exactly where he said he would be, outside the cruise ship terminal, and told us all about the history and sights while we were driving to the river, spoke english. The last few miles on a rock road are fun. There is a new big bathroom area before you start your hike, so take advantage. Then the trek began.. if you aren't in great physical shape... get busy walking BEFORE you take the trip... LOTS of walking, up and down uneven rock steps, muddy hills, and jungle area.. fortunately most of it is in the shade and downhill, didn't notice any bugs, but spray anyway. Be sure and wear good hiking shoes that grip the mud/rocks and they can be washed off while you float in the river. We had heard about a new jungle treetop canopy excursion at the end of the river, so we raced through the jungle, so the family could do the canopy, too, but slowly floated through the caves. Along the way, Tim made sure if we had questions about the plants he would stop and tell us. He explained once we got to the place to put the tubes in to listen to him when he said "bottoms up" as the river was low in spots.. and we did hit our butts a few times... the sights and sounds once you are in the caves is awesome...and Tim was never more than an arm's length away from any of us (8)pointing out all the interesting sights and foliage. We laughed as the cruise ship bus load had to race through the caves... The best part was not having to hike so far back to the van, plus having time for my family to do the canopy tree tops after the river. Tim took special care and made our day fun and safe and had us back at the ship for the last tender.. with a little shopping at the pier. Don't miss this adventure with Reggie Tours.... Reggie even emailed me after the trip to make sure we had fun and would come again. WE WILL...
