Suggestions for future cruisers to Belize. If you are going to Tabayna Beach for snorkeling, the cost is $20 per person not 15 as the cruise represents. At least that was our experience. It is great for snorkeling. The private vans leave you north of the beach so walk 5 minutes and look for other snorkels. That is the place to enter the water, not where they leave you. See this site that I wish I would have seen before going to Belize. http://www.roatanisland.net/cruiseship.htm . Perhaps the 15 or 20 per person is a ripoff. To this day I am not sure what is right but if this site helps others I would like to know. Send me an email at Calexicolaw@sbcglobal.net

We had gone to Isla Mujeres in Cancun 20 years ago. At that time we were able to snorkle off the beach and it was great. We were told after the long ferry ride that we took right from the where the tender left us that it costs now another 15 dollars per person to take small boats out to a couple snorkel spots. The snorkeling on our trip was great but be aware the ferry costs 15 per person and the snorkeling costs another 15 per person. Anyone find a spot of the beach there for less email me.

The tender service on NCL to Cancun was bad. We knew we had little time so I got one of the first tender tickets. NCL says to wait in your room to be called. If you do you will likely as we did miss the first tender. We came straight to the tender and missed it. Others who don't follow the the rules get rewarded. This is a minor problem compared to the trip back. I have never seen worst lines in the hot sun to return to the ship. The water station at the end of the line was in such a precarious position people risked being knocked off the dock to get water. NCL should not concentrate on saving gas on the tenders but rather customer satisfaction. The Cancun stop should be revamped to a longer stop. We had no time to see Cancun and no time to take the public ferry.

If you take the snorkel boats from Isla and you want to snorkel tell them to skip seeing the dolphins in the enclosed area and the shark in the pond that you can have your picture with for more time at the two snorkel spots. This is a tourist haven so beware. I think they rush you because other boats are coming. You have to wear life vests that I thought I would not like but it was no big deal.

We did the cave tubing in Belize with Reggie's Tours. That was fine for a family of 4. My boys loved it. Cant say I personally would recommend it. I don't think there is much else to do in Belize. I would suggest skipping Belize. I think my family disagrees.

Hope this helps.
