Coco Cay, Bahamas Port Review

Kate

Then we stopped at CocoCay. I was EXTREMELY disappointed with this stop. I realize it is Royal Caribbean’s private island, but if you’re not into sun-bathing, or spending a ton of money, you’re not going to have a lot to do. We rented a kayak, but were told that we could only go in certain places. It was fun, but got a little boring after about the first 20 minutes. Then we attempted to each lunch in the ONLY spot to eat. I had read on other reviews that there were other places to eat, however when we asked, we were told that either the buffet, that was before us, or the boat were the only places to eat. The buffet was absolutely disgusting. I am not a squeamish person, but even I was completely grossed-out. There were flies on everything...all over the food. It was, obviously, completely uncovered. When we complained to the "manager", we were told that he knew he had a problem, but that they have sprayed yesterday. Whatever his excuse was, we could not eat, and I was cranky for a good number of hours. We decided to wait to eat until the last tender was going back to the boat, and we snorkeled in the mean time.
