Coco Cay, Bahamas Port Review

Carly K.

Coco Cay is Royal Caribbean’s private island, and it’s wonderful. For sun-worshippers like us there is nothing better than a great beach! You have to tender to shore, which is inconvenient, but the process was smooth and well organized. We had no trouble finding six chairs on the beach, and while our parents relaxed, my siblings and I did the SeaTrek Kayak Adventure. The excursion was fun and educational, and the guides were extremely knowledgeable. The only problem was that the water was too shallow in some places so we had to get out and pull our kayak to keep from getting stuck in the sand or grass. The guides may need to rethink their route. We spent the rest of the day snorkeling. It was very windy, so the water was a bit murky, but we saw plenty of fish, even a barracuda! We had lunch on the beach and thoroughly enjoyed the Coco-Locos. I’m not sure what they are exactly - something like a pina colada - but they are good!! The only complaint I have about Coco Cay is the lack of freshwater showers. After a day in the sea and the sand it would have been really nice to rinse off!
