Janet LeBlanc CocoCay was like a sliver of paradise. Truly, none of the promotional photos used by Royal Caribbean prepare you for how beautiful this little island is. Everything is clean, colorful and plentiful whether it is chaise lounge chairs, party beverages or (as always) tasty food. The palm trees and turquoise water are almost surreal. This is what we all dream the Caribbean will look like. Hallmark calendar picture perfect Caribbean. True, it is distilled and idealized like Disney perfect, but after Nassau, CocoCay was a tropical paradise. We loved it there. We all snorkeled. We brought our own equipment, so just went out snorkeling at our leisure, but at CocoCay, if you rent equipment, I believe it is for all day instead of just a couple hours like a shore excursion. The teenage kids, my husband and I all stayed in the main beach area, but our married older "kids" ventured off away from the crowd and thoroughly enjoyed a serene day of peace and quiet plus better snorkeling than we had with everyone in swimming. If there was a criticism to levy here, it was that we waited to return to the ship until the end of the day, and the lines for the tenders were long and hot. I'd go back to CocoCay in a skinny minute. Ask a Question About a Caribbean Port
