NCL's Great Stirrup Cay Private Island Shore Excursion Review

Jen

Great Stirrup Cay is a pretty little island. I thought there was going to be a bigger beach area though. There's not much sand between the rocks and the water, so try to get there early so you can find a good spot. Bring goggles...there are so many beautiful fish that swim right up to the shore. Would have been better if we had goggles. And one big TIP: BRING WATER SHOES! The ocean floor is very sharp and slimy. People were getting hurt while walking around in the water. There is also a little market behind the bbq area, but it's expensive compared to Nassau. The BBQ was not very good...definitely not as good as the food on the ship. Definitely eat breakfast before you leave the ship. There is also a cool Caribbean style band playing music...nice touch. The water was beautiful and the ferry ride was very short (and very bumpy, so sit down). Overall, this was a fun beach day!
