HAL’s private island proved to be the big surprise of the trip. It was far, far nicer than other similar private islands we’ve been to (Labadee and Coco Cay). HMC is far more developed than others we’ve seen, and had really beautiful, uncrowded beaches. The food was adequate, nothing special, but then what do you expect on a desert island ;-)? Unfortunately, despite factor 45 sunblock, I managed to get terrible sunburn on this last day of the cruise. So much for “waterproof for up to two hours exposure”, etc.! Naturally there were no other ships in port with us today…
