Unfortunately, this cruise did not live up to our expectations. Our cabin was fine and the food and service were good. However, the public areas (dining, theater, etc.) were very crowded and we had to show up 20 minutes early to get a decent seat for the shows. There were also relatively few activities that did not involve buying something from Holland America. Internet service on the ship was poor and extremely expensive. The Baltic Sea itinerary was great but we would choose a different ship and cruise line next time.

Food was generally good with a few exceptions.

Stateroom was small but it was well appointed. Cabin stewards were excellent.

For a large ship, there were too few activities that did not involve Holland America selling something.

The Baltic itinerary was great. We booked our shore excursions with outside companies and this worked well for us since the ship's excursions were way more very expensive.

Great itinerary and nice new ship but HAL could have done much better regarding activities and crowd management.
