We were
first time cruisers and this was our first trip to Jamaica. We read many
port reviews and decided to take a private tour with Phil Layfette. This
was the best tour of our cruise. Phil met us at the pier. There were 2
other couples and two children. Phil was very friendly and eager to
please. He explained some history of Jamaica, he sang to us and showed us
his Jamaica where allspice and lemon grow wild. He took us to see Fern
gully and we made a few stops where he showed us schools and churches and
a few local crafts. We also went tubing on the White river which was
really great, to Dunn's river Falls then to a local restaurant where we
tried Jerk chicken and Pork. Phil then dropped us off at Island Village to
do some shopping before turning to the pier. If I ever go back to Ocho
Rios Phil will be my tour guide.
