We
took the City tour of Merida, capital of the Yucatan. It was great. The
city's architecture is European looking. The Governor's mansion and the
cathedral in the town square were beautiful. Lots of history. City was
pretty clean and people were friendly. Found some great bargains on
blankets and other stuff. Progresso looked run down, so we skipped it this
time. I'm sure as the port grows, Progresso will change a bit. Pier is
VERY LONG. There is also some good shopping right on the pier. Will visit
again someday.
