Pre-Cruise visit: We arrived in San Juan about 11:40am. We took a taxi to the hotel ($20 cab fare). Our room was ready, so we dropped off our luggage and set out to see the sights. We took another taxi to Old San Juan ($10 cab fare). The taxi driver dropped us off at the bottom of the hill that is in front of San Cristobal. (Take note – you want to be dropped off near El Morro. This is where all the shops and restaurants are.) We took the city tour – it was ok – nothing great. Time for a tip – it was hot – very hot on every island we were on. I would suggest that you take something to drink & a snack with you if lunch is not included as part of the tour. I would skip this tour & try to get to the Bacardi Rum tour. It leaves from pier 2. We were too late to take the tour. We went back to the hotel to get some much needed relief from the heat (cab fare - $10).
