San Juan, Puerto Rico Port Information and Shore Excursion Review

Megan

We arrived in San Juan 3 hours behind schedule so we went and looked around outside of the boat because it was night, they kept us in San Juan overnight since we had gotten there so late. We took a taxi to the Fort of San Juan. There were school kids in a field flying kites so we walked through them they were yelling estupido at each other for their kites getting tangled. My husband helped one little girl get her kite back in the air. She yelled gracias as we walked off. We went to the San Juan Cathedral next on our walk back to the boat, The church was beautifully decorated in marble, candles, and murals which looked 3-dimensional. We looked at the different shops but didn't buy anything. The map that the super shopper gives you helps even if you aren't shopping. Around noon we went on a tour to see the rainforest. Our first stop was at the market for souvenirs and a rest stop. Olga, the bus driver, bought us baby bananas. My husband didn’t want to taste it because he got really sick in Mexico a few years back & didn't want it to happen again. I tried them and they tasted sweet and I was unaffected. The next stop was a walk through the rainforest. We fortunately did not see any snakes or wildlife but the walk was very peaceful and we met some nice people.
