St. Maarten and St. Martin Port Information and Shore Excursion Reviews

Sara Thomas

I actually visited this port in August 2005 on RCCL's Navigator but 2005 wasn't on the choice list here, so I put 2004. This port is small and intimate, and not as crowded as the Bahamas or St. Thomas. Of course we were the only ship in port so it really made for a nice leisurely day. I did the 12 Metre Regatta America's Cup sailing excursion, and it was one of the most unique experiences I ever had! I was tired and thoroughly sunburned afterwards, but I'd do it all over again! You get to race against another team in an actual America's Cup racing yacht and it brings out the best (and worst) in everyone! I highly recommend this excursion! Frommer's names it the best excursion in the Caribbean!
